Fixed Wire Testing also know as Periodic inspection is the inspection and testing of the electrical supply within your premises.

Why should I have this done

You should have your testing done to comply with the following regulations:

Health and Safety at Work Act

Electricity at Work Regulations

Electricity Supply Regulations

 

All testing carried out will be in accordance with the BS7671:2008 17th edition and Guidance Note 3, All engineers are trained to BS7671:2008 and have also completed city and guilds 2391

 

How often the testing is carried out depends on the type of premises, as a guide there are some examples below:

Commercial                                      5 Years

Educational Establishments                 5 Years

Hospitals                                          5 Years

Industrial Premises                            3 Years                            

Hotels & Restaurants                          1 Year

Emergency Lighting testing

Health and Safety legislation requires all commercial and public premises to have an emergency lighting installation that complies with BS5266:2004 and BSEN50172.The main reason for this is to enable the building to meet fire safety legislation and maintenance requirements to ensure safe passage in the event of fire or power failure.
